Ingredients:

200 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)

150 g butter

200 g sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

120 g all-purpose flour

30 g unsweetened cocoa powder

¼ teaspoon salt

150 g walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a square or rectangular brownie pan.

In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together. You can do this in the microwave in short bursts or over a pot of hot water (double boiler). Stir until fully melted and combined.

Add the sugar to the melted chocolate and mix well.

Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and stir.

In another bowl, sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and mix until just combined.
