Lemon Marinade for Skewers: Easy and Flavorful Recipe for Grilled Meats
Ingredients:
-
500 g meat of your choice (pork loin, chicken, or beef)
-
7 garlic cloves, peeled
-
Juice of 2 lemons
-
3 teaspoons dried oregano
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
Black pepper, to taste
-
2 teaspoons turmeric powder
-
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
-
1 teaspoon dried thyme
-
1 teaspoon ground cumin
-
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions:
-
Prepare the marinade:
In a blender or food processor, combine garlic cloves, lemon juice, oregano, salt, black pepper, turmeric, rosemary, thyme, cumin, and olive oil. Blend until you get a smooth and homogeneous sauce. -
Marinate the meat:
Cut the meat (pork, chicken, or beef) into cubes and place in a large bowl. Pour the marinade over the meat and mix well to ensure all pieces are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a tight-fitting lid. -
Resting time:
Let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. The longer it rests, the more flavorful it becomes. -
Assemble the skewers:
The next day, thread the marinated meat cubes onto wooden or metal skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes beforehand to prevent burning during grilling. -
Cook:
Grill the skewers on a barbecue, griddle, or pan over medium-high heat for about 3–4 minutes per side or until nicely browned and fully cooked inside. -
Serve and enjoy!
